A sweet discernment out of kindness, rather than truth
A three-year-old little boy was having a
conversation with his uncle. They were talking about edible seafood. They
started with all kinds of fish. Then his uncle asked him whether he had octopus
before. The little boy spoke softly in a caring tune to his uncle, “Octopus is
not real. Don’t eat!” To the boy, the concept of seafood are fish-like animals,
because he only had fish as seafood in his meals so far. A fish with legs (testicles),
not only that, but it has eight legs (testicles); definitely it is a cartoon
character! The three-year-old’s discernment was that octopuses are not real and
inedible, so he kindly warned his uncle not to eat it.
