Pray for Our Earth
This Friday May 16, 2008, photo, distributed by the official Chinese news agency Xinhua, shows a dead student's hand holding a pen tightly in the debris site of Dongqi Middle School in Hanwang Town of quake-hit Mianzhu City, southwest China's Sichuan province. (AP Photo/Xinhua, Liu Zhongjun)
During SFI fellowship time, Rev. Choi gave us two groups of photographs of China Szechuan's Earthquake to meditate on for 5 min: how would I communicate to oneself, to God, and to people.
Among all pictures, one of the pictures re-appears in my mind the next morning...
Earth is shaking
A great destructive force is attacking
Debris is falling from all angles
Only weapon the young student has is pen
Ink is poisonous he heard
Picking up a pen with a sharpened end
To defend against the great destructiveness
Stabbing the pen in the air
The pen crushed in his hand
The great destructive force swept by, the pen left stabbing into the youngster hand with ink flowing out
God you said you are alpha (A) and omega (Ω), where were you during beta (B), gamma (Γ), delta (Δ)… ?
詩篇第十篇第 1 節:
「耶和華阿,你為甚麼站在遠處,在患難的時候,為甚麼隱藏。」
Psalm 10:1
“Why, O LORD, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?”
Also, pray for Cyclones Nargis at Myanmar (Burma).
